Josh Groban Tonight!

Tonight's the night! I get to see one of today's best singers at Verizon Center tonight, as I have two tickets to Josh Groban's Straight To You tour. My mom bought an album of his - Closer - in 2004, and I had NO IDEA who this person was. After listening to that one album and then subsequent albums that she bought, I felt drawn to his music. The beauty of his songs is that they are sung in various languages, not just English.

His all-time greatest song was and still is You Raise Me Up, and I have played that song a countless number of times on the piano.

The Best Medley of All-Time

The Australian comedy rock/pop band "Axis of Awesome" has done it again. If you remember during the summer of 2009, the band released a video titled "The Four Chord Song", and it was a big hit, including a medley of songs, from "Pictures of You" to "You're Beautiful".

As of two days ago, there was an event in the United Kingdom - Red Nose Day - in which they recreated their hit medley - this time including songs by the now-famous Lady Gaga as well as a reference to the Double Rainbow. Take a look:

In case you want to know the four chords they are referring to, the chords are: (Piano keys in parenthesis)
  • E Major (E + G# + B)
  • B Major (Low B + D# + F#)
  • C# Minor (C# + E + G#)
  • A Major (A + C# + E)

Cool Katy Perry Mash-Up

I have shown a Katy Perry song before on my blog, but that's not because she is my favorite singer; it's just that she has very catchy songs. This mash-up is by two famous Youtubers (yes, I used Youtube as a noun) who share their versions of famous pop songs on the video-sharing website - William Ting (a.k.a. Iwillbot) of Seattle, Washington and Tiffany Alvord, from California. Here is Will playing the piano while Tiffany is strumming the guitar and singing Katy Perry's "Firework". Enjoy!

Make sure you start the second video seven seconds in when you play the first video.
