If you haven't checked out the Google homepage today, I suggest you do so. If you did not recognize the characters, they were part of a series of books written by Rodger Hargreaves, who turns 76 today.
As a kid - even when I lived in India over the summer - I used to love reading these creative books. I remember that, during the last week of the school year as a second-grader, we had to design our own comics, and I chose to do it on different shapes - such as Mr. Triangle, Miss Square and Mr. Octagon - a take on the Mister and Miss series.
